HVAC Technicians at The Repair Tech will be responsible for the full spectrum of HVAC services from diagnosis to repair, maintenance, and installation. The technician must be comfortable working with various HVAC systems, including but not limited to, central air systems, furnaces, and heat pumps.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Accurately diagnose HVAC issues and provide cost-effective solutions
Perform routine maintenance checks including air balance, refrigerant charge, and component functionality
Install new HVAC systems following industry best practices
Provide exceptional customer service, including educating clients on how to maintain their systems
Complete paperwork for each job, including invoices, time records, and inventory logs
Work closely with supply chain to ensure timely arrival of parts and equipment
Compensation:
Base Salary: $20 – $25 per hour (depending on experience and certifications)

Diagnose faults with domestic and commercial appliances using advanced diagnostic tools
Repair appliances in the quickest and most effective manner, minimizing client downtime
Keep a well-documented log of parts used for inventory management
Provide customers with a detailed overview of the services performed
Work closely with the customer service team for scheduling and follow-ups
Attend regular training sessions to update skill set

Scheduling and Dispatch Coordinator
(Part-Time & Full Time)
We are seeking a reliable and highly organized individual to join our team at The Repair Tech as a part-time or full-time Scheduling and Dispatch Coordinator. This role is a blend of scheduling and dispatching tasks, essential to the smooth operation of our HVAC and appliance service company. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact between our technicians and customers, optimizing our workforce’s day-to-day schedules.
Location: San Diego County, CA
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Part-Time | 8am – 12pm or 1pm-5pm
Roles and Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls and handle customer inquiries.
Coordinate and dispatch technicians to commercial and residential service locations.
Create, adjust, and maintain the daily schedule for service technicians.
Communicate effectively with both customers and technicians to ensure timely service.
Provide technicians with the necessary information about each job, such as customer information, location, and problem description.
Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling conflicts, technician delays, and other issues.
Document and update customer records based on interactions.
Monitor field operations and ensure all services are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform any other administrative tasks as needed.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $17.50 – $20 per hour
Expectations:
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with HVAC and appliance industry terminology is a plus, but not necessary.
Must be proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Experience with scheduling software is highly desirable.
Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a dispatch or scheduling role is preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Dispatch Manager
(Full Time)
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, routing, and coordination of service technicians to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role requires proactive problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while streamlining processes for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily dispatch of technicians, ensuring routes are optimized to minimize travel time and improve efficiency.
Assign and prioritize jobs based on urgency, technician availability, and customer needs.
Adjust schedules in real-time to accommodate emergencies, cancellations, or unexpected delays.
Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding appointment confirmations, rescheduling, and technician delays.
Provide regular updates to customers regarding parts availability, job progress, or follow-up appointments.
Ensure customer concerns or complaints are handled promptly and escalated if necessary.
Supervise the dispatch team and provide guidance on daily operations.
Collaborate with technicians to ensure job completion, resolve scheduling conflicts, and address any issues.
Hold technicians accountable for completing tasks, submitting job details, and updating notes on time.
Analyze schedules and routes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
Develop and implement processes to reduce errors, backlogs, and miscommunication.
Streamline workflows between dispatch, scheduling, and field technicians.
Monitor job status, pending estimates, and part orders to ensure timely completion.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all jobs, routes, and communications within the scheduling system (HCP or similar).
Follow up on open tasks, return jobs, and ensure no jobs fall through the cracks.
Quickly resolve scheduling conflicts, technician issues, or customer concerns with a solutions-first approach.
Think ahead to anticipate potential challenges and proactively address them.
Adapt to changes in real-time and pivot schedules or priorities as needed.
Monitor team performance, ensuring job turnaround times and customer communication goals are met.
Create and assign tasks for dispatch staff to maintain productivity.
Provide regular performance feedback and support staff with training and development.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, accountability, and respect.
Maintain professionalism in all communication, both internal (staff, technicians) and external (customers).
Compensation:
Base Salary: $25 – $30 per hour
Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular phone and email communication.
Ability to manage and adapt to last-minute changes.
Occasional need to handle customer escalations or technician issues outside regular hours.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Dispatch Manager or in a similar role (dispatching/scheduling).
Proficiency in scheduling software and systems (e.g., HCP, Google Calendar, or similar tools).
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
